Emerson Straw was excited to sponsor the Race to the Taste 5K on April 28, 2019. All proceeds from this event benefited EPIC Behavioral Healthcare, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing substance abuse prevention, intervention, outpatient treatment and aftercare services.
Thank you to those of you who provided help to those on their journey to recovery by participating in this years 5K race. The race began at 11:00 AM at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre. The course ran through the scenic and alluring Anastasia State Park.
But why was it called Race to the Taste? Great question. Families, strollers, walkers, and joggers ended the 5K race at the 23rd Annual Taste of St. Augustine community event. This culinary event featured delicious local food and great music. All proceeds benefited EPIC Behavioral Healthcare as well. Race contestants, plus one guest, received free admission to the event. Tickets were available to purchase for $5 otherwise.
The Race to the Taste 5K was $25 for registration before April 28th, and $30 the day of the race. Kids ages 6-15 were $15 and kids below the age of 6 were free. You were able to register online or via mail-in/drop off. A race entry ticket included a chip timed event, a t-shirt, a goody bag, admission to Taste of St. Augustine, and discounts to local attractions.
A $100 restaurant gift card was awarded to the 1st place overall female and male competitors. Awards were given to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place participants in each age category.
Thank you to those of you who joined us for a day full of scenic racing, live music, and delicious food. We were happy to see you there!
