Emerson Straw Welcomes Darryl Rouson to the Firm

Emerson Straw is pleased to announce that Florida State Senator Darryl Rouson has joined the firm. His addition strengthens the team’s expertise and enhances the firm’s ability to serve clients across Florida.

For almost twenty years, Mr. Rouson represented the Tampa Bay region in the Florida Legislature. He became known for his work on mental health and substance abuse policy, health care access, and issues affecting working families. His ability to navigate complex legislative and regulatory environments is one of the many strengths he brings to our firm.

Before his public service career, Mr. Rouson built a strong legal foundation through work at Gulfcoast Legal Services and in private practice. Outside the courtroom, he has long been engaged in community leadership and advocacy, working with organizations focused on civil rights, equity, and community well-being.

At Emerson Straw, he will support litigation matters and provide guidance in areas where law and public policy overlap. His background offers clients a deeper understanding of how decisions are made, how regulations evolve, and how strategic planning can shape successful outcomes.
