Emerson Straw Injury Law proudly announces the Emerson Straw Injury Law Scholarship: Overcoming Adversity After an Injury. We are awarding $1,000 to a student who shares a compelling story of resilience after experiencing or witnessing an injury. This scholarship aims to uplift students who have faced physical, emotional, or financial hardships and emerged stronger, committed to their educational goals.
We understand that injuries—whether personal or experienced by a loved one—can reshape one’s path. Through this scholarship, we hope to inspire determination, courage, and perseverance among students across the United States.
Essay Topic
In a 1,000-word essay, share a personal story of overcoming adversity after an injury. Your essay should explore:
- The nature and impact of the injury—physical, emotional, and financial.
- How you or your loved one coped and persevered through the experience.
- The lessons learned and how this journey has shaped your academic and life goals.
Your essay should be informative and persuasive, supported by reflection, storytelling, and relevant data or insights.
Eligibility Requirements
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale)
- Must be enrolled or about to enroll in an accredited undergraduate, graduate, or community college program in the U.S.
- High school applicants must submit a college or university acceptance letter
