Pinellas County Senior Citizen Sues Local Doctor and Heart Center for Negligent Care

Emerson Straw’s client was referred to a local Heart Center by her PCP after moving from out of state. The client started having issues after a successful artery bypass graft surgery in 2019. An MRI revealed that there were findings compatible with acute or subacute infarction. The defendant doctor was also found to be arrested for felony charges of possession in 2016. After this, the client was placed under the care of a physician who may have been unfit to perform the procedure. The client was not informed of these facts prior to undergoing a risky procedure.  The plaintiff relied on negligently misrepresented and omissions by consenting to get the procedure.  As a direct result, the client sustained bodily injuries, resulting in pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life, expense of hospitalization, and loss of ability to earn money.
