Husband and Wife Sue Multiple Local Health Facilities for Improper Treatment and Neglect

Emerson Straw’s client presented to a local health facility for ongoing tailbone pain. The defendant doctor ordered medical imaging to determine the issue, which revealed evidence of further pressing medical issues. Despite the plaintiff’s pain and results of the MRI, the defendant doctor performed no rectal examination post-surgery. She continued to have various ongoing symptoms and decided to seek additional treatment from other doctors as well. A colonoscopy was performed and the doctor immediately spotted a “foreign object” in the patient’s rectum, that appeared to have been placed during her prior surgery. She was scheduled to have an emergency surgery to remove the foreign body, but the damage from the mesh is permanent.
