Resident of Hernando County Receives Settlement After Incurring Injuries in a Motor Vehicle Accident

The Defendant negligently operated a company vehicle by driving past a worksite entrance, abruptly shifting into reverse, and failing to keep a proper lookout for traffic behind the vehicle, causing a collision with the Plaintiff’s car. Because the vehicle was owned by the Defendant employer and operated in the course and scope of employment, the employer is vicariously liable. As a direct result of the Defendant’s negligent backing, the Plaintiff sustained permanent injuries, pain and suffering, medical expenses, and loss of enjoyment of life. Emerson Straw represented this client and reached a confidential settlement for the damages incurred to their client.
